Stephen Hawking is best known in the scientific community for his 1975 paper
“Particle Creation by Black Holes,” in which he demonstrated that black holes are not absolute vacuums from which nothing escapes. Hawking stated that radiation is emitted by black holes, and ultimately, that many such singularities will bleed radiation and, eventually dissipate. This radiation is therefore termed Hawking Radiation.
